Choosing your company's first AI project

Four criteria for starting small, learning quickly, and demonstrating value safely.

Choose a familiar, repetitive process with a clear owner. Prefer an opportunity with available data, controlled risk, and an outcome that is easy to measure, such as time saved, fewer errors, or faster service. Run a pilot with a small group, keep human review in place, and compare it with the current process. At the end, use evidence to decide whether to adjust, expand, or stop.
